Tyler Fenwick

Tyler Fenwick is the Director of Bands for South Laurel Middle School and Assistant Director for South Laurel High School.

Mr. Fenwick is a native of Lebanon, KY, graduating from Marion County High School in 2011. He received his Bachelors and Masters of Music in Music Education from Campbellsville University, in 2015 and 2020 respectively. He is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Association for Music Education, the Kentucky Music Educators Association, and the Kentucky Band Organization.
Mr. Fenwick is currently in his 8th year as a music educator. The first six years were spent as Assistant Director (2015-2016) and then Director of Bands (2016-2021) for Metcalfe County Schools in Edmonton, KY, teaching grades 6 through 12. While the director at Metcalfe County, Mr. Fenwick led the program to success in becoming consistent KMEA SMBC Semi-Finalists, Distinguished Rating recipients at KMEA District Large Ensemble Assessment, and record participation in area honor bands. This is Mr. Fenwick’s second year with the South Laurel Band Program. During the 2021-22 school year, he help lead the South Laurel Marching Band to a 3rd Place finish in class 4A at KMEA State Marching Band Championships. The South Laurel Middle School Band also received a Distinguished Rating at District Large Ensemble Assessment and almost every student in the SLMS Band Program participated in a honor band of some sort in the Spring of 2022.
Mr. Fenwick is a French horn player and has been blessed to been able to play and teach in a wide variety of settings using these skills. He was selected for the 2011 Kentucky All-State Band as well as the 2014 and 2015 Kentucky Intercollegiate Band. He has also had the privilege of performing with the Heartland Winds Community Band, Central Kentucky Community Orchestra, London Community Orchestra, and in the pit orchestra for the Youth Theatre of Hardin County and the Hardin County PAC Pro-Am theatre. Since beginning his teaching career, Mr. Fenwick has also provided to private lessons to students across southern Kentucky and served as Adjunct Professor of Horn for Lindsey Willson College in 2020 and 2021.
Mr. Fenwick is a resident of London, KY.
